Should the Setting Aside of an Arbitral Award Be Abolished?

A rather provocative question – to which I do not pretend to have the answer. But ist appears that Professor Albert Jan van den Berg may have it. He will deliver the 2nd Karl-Heinz Böckstiegel Lecture on that topic. The lecture is organized by the German Institution for Arbitration in honour of Karl-Heinz-Böckstiegel, its long-time president and current honorary president. IBA German Mediation Committee – B2B Mediation, Frankfurt, September 19, 2013

The International Bar Association’s German Mediation Committee is holding an event in Frankfurt on September 19, 2013. The Topic for the evening is “B2B Mediation – Expectation, Experience, Success (Erwartung, Erfahrung, Erfolg). Ulrich Hagel, Senior Expert Dispute Resolution at Bombardier Transportation, will present the in-house and user perspective, and  the mediator’s view will be put forward by Renate Dendorfer-Ditges, Heussen. DIS Conference: Arbitrating in Germany, London, September 2, 2013

The German Institution of Arbitration (Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit, DIS) hosts a conference on Arbitrating in Germany on September 2, 2013 in London. The conference is co-organised by Queen Mary, University of London and held at Queen Mary’s, 67-69 Lincoln’s Inn Fields. Places will be allocated on a “first come first served” basis.
